Cafe de canela

Mexican dishes find their origin in the art of combining fresh ingredients and age old cooking techniques. How COVID-19 turned this Mexican restaurant into a food bank Restaurateur Yasmen De Leon hadn’t expected to be running a food bank out of her business. The only halal Birria tacos cafe de canela’ve found in Ontario.

If you’re going to order, order way ahead of time and over the phone. You won’t find a freezer here. I’m picky with food and this place is now one of my fav places in the GTA. Park on the side residential street not in the insanely busy and tight plaza. Run in, run out, go home and reward your belly. It is the only Halal Mexican Restaurant in the GTA.

Having been craving this for a long time and they did not disappoint. Saw this place on tiktok and I’m happy to say it didn’t disappoint! The portions are HUGE and definitely worth your money. I found the Mexican food to be my second favourite in the whole city! The owner greeted each and every customer while we were waiting for our food. These Tacos are a must try!

One of the most traditional tacos I’ve ever eaten and they were VERY DELICOUS! Do yourself a favor and head down to enjoy one of the best! I wanted to try Birria Tacos for the longest time and this place didn’t disappoint. I would recommend their Birria Tacos with Consome. Their Shrimp Cocktail was also delicious.

It looked like Ceviche but it wasn’t but if you do like Ceviche, it’s worth the try! To wash everything down, the Hibiscus drink with lime was refreshing. Realllllllly delicious tacos, very very long wait. I would advise to order ahead. To serve the highest quality Mexican indigenous and contemporary cuisine. To serve our menu items  as quickly as possible without compromising quality, texture, flavour or ancestral culinary techniques. To be the soul of Mexico in Toronto by supporting the community and providing them with a happy home.
